Another similar mill is the Rebel 17, which is supposed to be a heavy duty version of the Model B. It has stronger rollers, powder coated jar, and stronger bearings. They're usually around 30 more expensive than a stock model B. The black jar wouldn't hurt to hide charcoal stains either.

As far as placement of your mill, the ideal distance is probably around 150ft or more away from any buildings of any sort. If you can barricade it that's even better (things like sandbags). Just make sure you don't block off air to the motor. When making black powder there is always a chance for it to go off.

Black powder can be made by milling the components singly and screenmixing together. Charcoal and potassium nitrate can be purchased premilled now, as well. Using a rock tumbler, you can make black powder faster by milling the charcoal and potassium nitrate separately. 3 component milling takes much longer to make good powder.
